Clever marketing or a skincare innovation? The CC Cream
In 2011 multiple BB Creams hit the market, recently CCs followed. It makes sence. But what is special about the launch and above all is the newbie worth purchasing or only a sneaky way to earn our money?
CC Cream stands for "Colour Correction Creme" and just like the BBs they are supposed to combine nourishing and covering properties. The innovation is it's promised long-term effect: if you use a cream of this kind on a regular Basis, it helps to improve a lasting improvement in skintone. Sounded all very good to me, so I was willing to try a couple out.
'Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30' has a very moisturising texture and is therefore good for people, who have dry skin. It does not slip around though and feels very light.
'Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30' promised to be dark spot correcting. It actually helped me to conceal the blackheads on my nose, but not to reduce them. A good CC for combination or oily skin.
'L’Oréal Paris Nude Magique CC Cream' comes in three different versions. I choose the anti-redness one and have to say, it did help to conceal reddish areas, but it didn't have any longterm effects, when it comes to my pigmentation. It covered those parts up as good, as any other foundation-product would.
'Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream' has a very light consistency, but gives a very nice luminous complection and a littlebit of coverage.
I have to say, that there is a reason that creams like these exist. They provide light skinsimilar coverage, perfect for hot, humid summer days. But a CC cream doesn't do a better job than any tinted moisturiser, when it comes to that. The mouthful of promises clustered on the packaging of the 'revolutionary' products, does not have a lot of backround. They are mainly supposed to be appealing to the customer.
I wouldn't expect too much from the little buggers, but they could be a nice alternative to your current tinted moisturiser.

Fashion Edit: Spring Lookbook
Very nice outfit for a lunchtime date with friends, I think.
The colours are a nice tribute to spring.
